Len Traub graduated from the University of St Andrews, Scotland in 1977 with an Honours degree in Physics. He immediately joined OCLI Ltd, the UK subsidiary of OCLI Inc, which, at the time was the world’s largest independent optical coating company. He remained with OCLI for 24 years, progressing from the role of Technical Engineer ultimately to Business Development Manager responsible for new product introduction and strategic planning. In 2001, following the closure of the UK facility, Len formed P&T Consulting Ltd with another former OCLI employee, Mike Pybus. Over the past 23 years, he has successfully undertaken numerous design and process improvement projects for clients throughout the world. In 2006, Len became the European agent for sales of the Essential Macleod and other Thin Film Center products. Throughout the period, Len has provided on-site training to end-users of the Essential Macleod, as well as delivering his own design training courses. This background made him well-suited to collaborate with Thin Film Center in the production of the video training course, “Thin Film Design using the Essential Macleod”, released in early 2025.
